Affordable Bunk Beds With Stairs
“Affordable” is a pretty abstract term, actually; nevertheless, I will take it as a synonym for inexpensive bunk beds. If a bed is cheap it doesn’t mean it is of a low quality; it only means that you will try harder to find the best match. Also keep in mind that cheap bunk beds will usually offer you less functionality and options, but if you feel comfortable with it, then it is not a big deal; the main thing is that the bed should be made with quality, convenience and safety in mind, and according to standards, to make it easier to find the appropriate bedding.
So here are two models of bunk beds: one is a wooden bunk bed, and the other is the metal one. The wooden model is called Stork Craft Long Horn Bunk Bed, Espresso. It is the twin over twin bunk bed and its current price $264.00.
The bed looks simple, but nice; I’d say it is rather elegant. Nothing more than a quality bunk bed. It has a front angled stair and safety rails on the top bunk. There are no shelves or drawers in this model, but since there is a space under the lower bunk, you can use it to store things or even add a trundle unit (but I doubt it will be convenient with the front stair unless you manage to remove it or use the trundle unit from the other side of the bed.
Be ready that putting the bed together will take some time: there are more than a hundred screws, I guess! But once assembled the bed looks solid and sturdy. The assembling process is not complicated but a bit time consuming.
Due to the bed’s height, it is better to use mattresses no higher than 8 inches for the safety purposes, especially if you bought this bed because you were looking for affordable bunk beds for kids. Also it is better to let a more peaceful and older kid to sleep on the top bunk – again for the safety measures.
In general, the bed is great, and can be used as a bunk bed for girls too!
The other model is the metal bunk bed. It is called Walker Edison Twin over Twin Bunk Bed. The bed comes in two colors: black and white. Its original price is $399.00, but currently you can get the bed at the great discount – for just $199.88! (You save 50 %!)
The bed looks modern and will nicely fit any modern room setting; it is made in a way to be easily converted to two separate twin beds, which is ideal if you buy it for kids, who will probably want separate beds once they get a little older.
There are good guard rails on the top bunk, and two at the sides on the lower bunk. The ladder is vertical and integrated into the bunk bed frame, so you can even add a trundle bed under this bed to extend its space saving properties; or you can put storage drawers under it.
The bed requires assembling, and there are tools included in the package; you should use a mattress of 9 inch thickness maximum, but you have to buy the mattress separately.
The bed is slim but sturdy; its assembly is not difficult as everything is appropriately marked. It took me a couple of hours to put the bed together. But, not all the information is mentioned in the instructions, so be very attentive while assembling the bed.
Once the bed is ready, it looks since and solid; it is good for kids as it provides a good level of safety; I wouldn’t recommend this bed for too young children because the ladder may be an issue for them. Otherwise it is one of the best affordable bunk beds with stairs.
