Bunk Bed With Trundle Unit

We always need more room space, especially in this modern life, where we live in tight cities. Bunk bed with trundle can be a good answer to that problem. Bed is the main piece of furniture we have in our bedroom; in most bedrooms the bed occupies the most amount of spaces, so it is quite understandable why getting the right bed can have a tremendous effect on the space organization in our bedroom.

When you look for a trundle bunk bed, it means that you probably need some really good space saving features; in other words you need to accommodate many people in relatively short space. But you also need to know what to expect from such bed.

We all heard about bunks and trundles. They are good space savers and have their own pros and cons, though obviously there are more pros anyway. Usually people buy bunk or trundle beds for their kids. That is quite common because if you have two children, buying such bed can allow you to have your kids share one room, live and play together, which is very good for them. Another thing is when you have only one child; yet here purchasing a bunk bed or trundle bed can be justified. It is because children in general like bunks and also if they have friends to stay overnight, there will be a spare bed for them. Bunks are funny and wonderful gaming places. Children like to climb up to the top bunk – it’s like climbing up a mountain.

Trundles are also great as they have almost the same functions as the bunks; the difference is that you do not have a bed over a bed, but instead of it there is a bed that comes out from under the main bed. There is some advantages and disadvantages of such construction altogether. The main advantage is that trundles are usually safer then bunks; it is because there is no place to fall off during the nighttime. But we need to mention, that most modern bunk beds have necessary safety accessories like safety rails and fixed ladders.

Also trundle beds can be turned into a bigger bed; for example, if you have a twin trundle bed, it can be converted into a king size or full size bed. This becomes possible when you have got a pop up trundle bed, where the trundle unit can be raised up to the level of the main bed.

The disadvantage of trundles is that they still have to occupy more space then bunks but only at the nighttime.

So as you may have already guessed bunk bed with trundle is an extreme way to save your room space since you can easily accommodate three persons, which takes a space for only one bed during the day. When a trundle unit is not used, you can simply keep it under the bunk bed or use it as a storage place. If you leave a mattress in the trundle, don’t forget to use a mattress cover to keep it unspoiled.
